hey guys. my updates have been really thin as of late. blame this on the fact im a family man and xmas is just around the corner.
i have a little update with a WIP of the elf im working on. and id like you opinions on something
Image
please bare in mind he isnt finished..but you will notice he has no hands!
now originally my intention was to put the sword in his right hand. but the more ive sculpted of him. my mind has swayed to the point where i cant decide. so thought id throw up a WIP to see if you guys could give your opinions

now hes crouched and sort of creeping forwards. and originally sword in right hand. with left hand sort of steadying his balance.
or
switch sword into left hand, but held backwards behind him like he is about to lunge forwards with a backhanded slash? sort of like a martial twirly sort of motion lol.
i know what i mean...but thought id throw it out there see what you guys might come up with?

I get you completely.
My verdict is sword in the left hand. A light, very fine sword, almost a rapier. That's one of the weapons that could be used as you describe and it fits the Elf. But it's no must. A simple longsword will do, too. In addition, I would also be a fan of a very slender longknife in his right hand, held across his waist in a defensive manner.

ahh my good man you get where i am coming from with the left hand wielding.
i was going to go with a very slender elvish looking sword. however i do only want 1 weapon.........thats not to say that it couldnt be modded if it ends up mass produced :)

I think something like this, which I also think is the same as what knightkrawler said. The sword in the left hand should be in a backhand grip, like a knife + scimitar style weapon :2cents:

That's exactly how I saw it too, except with a shorter blade like a knife in the left hand.
