I agree about the noses.

In Wolfie's second attachment from the previous page, the Bones ogre in the center back looks about the right size. It's hard to tell for sure, but it also looks like it might fit with some overlap on an HQ base.

yeah that one is not as wide set as most of the other ones you might be able to squeeze it on a hq base

Been looking at Urak-hai orcs as Ogre proxies - silly me assumed being GW they would be the right size. Picked up a two towers starter set cheapish, the guys are a bit too small. Oh well doesn't matter think I will probably use them anyway when we get that far. I like the look of them though shame they are not SLIGHTLY bigger.
Now I have a new game to learn lol.

As opposed to Warhammer/Warhammer 40k minis, the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit minis are not 28mm heroic (leaning towards 30mm even), but 25mm "realistic" in scale. That makes them smaller in all dimensions and most of them unfitting for HQ if you use anything other than that weird scale. I still think those new Hobbit Goblin warriors make great Ghouls.

those goblins definitely look more like ghouls especially the way the studio models are white painted

Exactly. Also, they have nice mutations and skin conditions and can be easily modded.

Not sure if anyone's already posted these little dudes, but I found three of these cthulhus in my craft drawer. I picked them up from a bin at a toy store awhile back, but it looks like they came from this "Bag of Cthulhus" set. Game tokens for Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game: http://www.amazon.com/Call-Cthulhu-LCG- ... 1589946006

The smaller ones sit about as tall as a goblin. Having a semi-powerful monster that's so small could be a surprise encounter for the Heroes. I'm going to make up a monster card for them (something that attacks mind points maybe, or can cast fear/sleep/command), but I'd imagine they'd make cool statues too, naturally.
