Hi All,
My website, Eastern-Empire.com (based off Warhammer 40k Tau being an Eastern Rim 'Empire'), was hammered last night by hackers. I've been under attack for a little over a week and it is suspiciously concurrent with Anonymous announcing war on a certain demographic. So having a URL called Eastern Empire, is likely a bad thing.
Clealy despite legit hackerz skillz, they cannot bother reviewing a site, thus judging their time is worth it, before assaulting it. Plastic fantasy and spacemen guys, hello!?
I was contacted by my ISP (a large international brand) over the highly unusual bandwidth pounding my site was taking, and off the record, the support tech said websites with the most vague hint of middle eastern culture are being assailed, causing them no end of server issues. To their credit, they're not charging me for the usage given my account history.
For my part, it went from much much higher rate of brute force attempts from more regions than I've ever seen in my security review (Normally Russia and the Netherlands), to service attacks then an ouright code smash. I had rebuilt once over the weekend, then last night it got annihilated.
All my tiles, reports, tutorials and various art and modelling links are down. I have uploaded as much as I can to specific URLs but largely, Eastern Empire is wiped.
Thank you for your interest in my work over the last nine years, I won't be rebuilding in any major way for awhile until this unfocussed hate fades. At the most a basic resource site for fans of my Tiles and Warhammer figure work will reappear.
- Sebastian.
