Thanks guys. In terms of this being my first sculpt. Just remember ive spent best part o a year prepping myself to an 80s style montage. Running up hills with a lo. On my shoulder. Balaning on beams doing the crane kick thingy lol. But as well as that ive been trying to hone my technique with slight mods to figures as well as the recent heroquest furniture ive been doing. Im pretty happy that my first step in the direction of making a complete scratch built figure. Has been relatively succesful. Even by my own harsh standards. Now of course i can pick it apart and say most definitely i need to work on my chainmail. I created a tool for this that maybe needs refining a little. (Althought its not perfect i still am not sure what you mean on te chainmail GK?) as for the axe..that was a design decision. Curly swirly desins are for elves. Hard sturdy edges for dwarves right? Kind of the same approach weta took in the lotr designs. Also i didnt want a direct copy. So the decision was made. It may not be to everyones liking i guess. But this was teally only desined for one purpose...and that was for my collection. However....if people want one forthemselves i guess i could start pricing up materials...i wouldnt want any profit. Purely a cost to cover materials...that is of course if enough people want one of these? With xmas coming up i cant really justify spending 80 to 100 qui on silicone solution and resin to create 4 or 5 copies. So i would like to share. As im very much into community. However im unsure at this point how to go about it all. So any suggestions are totally welcome. But ill only consider it if we can get 20 people onboard :)

If not...im painting him up lol

That's very good. I can probably find work for you with Center Stage Miniatures, if you're looking for some.

Why dó you need silicone? Just make one for each of us and we could pay for the amount of miliput you use.

Lol...erm nope. Silicone rtv is for creating the molds. Im still not massively clued up on the entire process. But i know the mild makin itself is very much a trial and error thing. But once you have a good mold, creating dupes then is a much easier thing to do.

Idont think im at that stage yet. But very flattering all the same.

Lets call this a community project? Im not looking for any profit. Jus want to be able to cover material and postage costs at most i would imagine

Billdask has some good casts. I think he'd be apt to share his experiences with you.

From the Dwarf you made I'm sure there are plenty of people that would like a copy, myself included.

Ive already made a start on the wizard..butthe elf im kinda stuck for his pose.. Im leaning towards a scouting sort o pose with him sneakin along. Looking into the middle distance..but unsure at the moment. Also i spoke with billdask a few weeks back. He was quite helpful. But didnt go into too much detail..its kinda the details that i need to know but decided to not ask too much. The process if mold creation and casting i would say im pretty clued up on. Its materials that im not clued up on. They can be pricey. And id sooner avoid the trial and error method of trying materials until i find something that works..that could cost me a fortune with no results to show for it :(
