thanks for the kind comments guys i am extremely humbled.
there are some more angles on my blog. it did turn out well. as i said im really happy with it. but at the same time i spent a lot more hours on this than any of the others ive created.
a lot of the things i did on that fireplace were firsts for me. im still learning. hopefully soon i can be creating stuff that might be worth casting too??

I have to say that is a truly impressive fireplace - I saw the painted pic and didn't quite realise the work that had gone into it until I saw your blog post.

Amazing work! :)

lol..the temptation to paint it. but i have actually made this in multipart because id like to try my hand at casting something. however i dont need any dupes of this guy...so only way id probably go the casting route is if people wanted 1 of this guy for themselves. even then i think im a long way of actually creating any duplicates..ive done my research on it. but think it would take a while before i could dish anything out.

Thus has the forums spoken so shall it be done! I do believe many would agree with me that you have a cast worthy piece right there. Please hold off on painting it and use your skills to go for your interpretation of the Wizard, Barbarian, and lowly Elf in that order. I wouldn't mind having a few of those Dwarves to make a nice army. You apparently have a talent for sculpting. We'll expect the Wizard to be on our desk in 6-8 days with the others subsequently following that same time-frame upon delivery.

And this is your first try? Incredible!
THIS is exactly what I would personally want from a HQ remake/reboot/anniversary. Same model and same style, just new and better sculpts!

If I have to criticize anything, the pattern on the axe is a little too simple for my taste. The original is very cool and hard to surpass.
Something looks wrong with his chainmail in the part between his beard and his axe-arm. It somehow just looks like random dot. It looks good on the rest of the mini.

Could you try taking a photo of him next to some other HQ minis?
