I see a tiny little cleavage there to expand on. Way to go, CP!

That tiny little sliver, to me, was nothing but potential.

The last boss has similar conventions, too.

Yes, she will be.

Will she have a staff? It seems like every female spellcaster mini out there has her holding/leaning on a staff...kinda like the HQ Wizard...

:?

I like the wand in the sketch though.

Judging from the concept art she will have a sparkling screwdriver.

We also know from that picture that Orc archers were planned at some stage.

The concept sketch, so far, has her with a wand in her outstretched right hand, and a dagger held in her off hand. Also, she's facing forward, with her arm outstretched in front of her.

Back to the female Dwarf. I really like your optional shield idea. I also think a horsehair plume is a good idea to convey a bit of female nature. Maybe you could braid the hair together in the middle, emulating a beard.

I also would like to see the hammer developed more. Actually, the hammer itself represents a problem, as it doesn't appear in the Armory. No other female alternate figure had introduced a new weapon. So I guess I'd go with a dwarven-style shortsword or have her two-handing a dwarven broadsword.

I'd say develop her legs more. The pants, shoes and kneepad look isn't working for me. Perhaps her mail should extend further down over her legs. I'd also go with boots--that seems dwarfish to me. The knee protection should tie in better if it is crowded. Maybe a buckle or something for the straps.

I'd also go with some shoulder armor and development of the elbow protection, which suffers from the same problem as the knee protection (I keep thinking skate-safety gear). More ornamentation may help. This may not be a good idea if it is taken too far though, as too much detail kills the basic nature of a HQ mini. I'm just offering impressions and brainstormed suggestions.

The defiant stance feels too active with the hammer to match the Hero Quest pose. Weapons are held poised, but resting upward. I think this reflects the dungeon-crawl nature of the game pretty well. Same for a more passive expression. It should be determined, but not expressing imminent violence. If you change these characteristics of the female Dwarf, then the other Heroes will similarly need to be adjusted, or she won't fit in. This is going too GW for my tastes, as we'll end up with Warhammer Quest figures.
