Thanks a lot - I always thought this to be a mere headline of the list below (which shows who is online, but not where exactly). Never crossed my mind to klick on it :smack:
Have a look ;)

Less moderation of sideline topics.

Let them fight it out if they want. The world does not end if you let a couple of idiots fight it out. I promise that occasional conflict is normal, natural and healthy for the collective.

And I am of the opinion I am right and proper in this matter as I admin a number of other spaces for other interests and my hands off let them fight attitude hasn't killed any of the spaces I run. If anything I am seen as fair and not heavy handed. Because no matter what you do as an admin/moderator someone is going to feel butt hurt if you quash a topic. So long as third parties are not disparaged and no threats of actual violence are made I am golden.
So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

No, the world doesn't end, but those quarrels tend to spill over into other topics as they did recently with the first one that was between el_flesh and Gold Bearer. The way I found out they were arguing was by reading about it in a totally unrelated topic.

See the gallery. The grading and commenting system has almost become a farce. Grading in particular is dangerous for the meek of heart and I'm not a fan of Likes either.
Or... there will be so many +1s and so few real contributions that the whole forum slowly succumbs to silent anonymous members. We have easily over a thousand now and how many do we really know?
I hate the f***book system and the ebay and youtube systems, too, come to think of it.
I, for one, strongly suggest not jumping on that train even though I would have +1ed saj's suggestion when first I read it.
I don't think I'm the only one here, but I'm also a fan of speaking out if the opinion is strong.

Sometimes I won't get any direct response from a post and am left wondering if anyone even saw it. :(

I would like this as well. There is a new version of the forum software that I believe has this option either built in, or available as an add-on....I've worked on converting our Inn theme to the new version when it's ready enough for us to switch and there's only a few minor tweaks I've yet to work out.

I'm happy with the thumb system at Boardgamegeek. My posts don't get much that way, but the discussion is important to me so it doesn't matter. It is nice to have a quick, positive response there so I can feel lightly involved in threads I'm not commenting in. I'd rather reserve actual comments of at least a sentence of contributing thought for my post count at the Inn.

News about a forum software upgrade? Is there anything else we can look forward to in terms of new features?

I would like to know where users are from, by city, state, country, etc. . I would be great to know who is located nearby, perhaps in order to possibly meet up to play a quest.

People can already do this by filling in the location field in their profile. It's comes down to their comfort level though.

There's no hi res scan of the UK game screen. I'd only just realised today I'd never seen the reverse of the American one. I never knew the monster chart I have a print out of was featured on the back with a lil rule summery.

Any ways... As I'm making a new back to stick to my screen I really need the original (UK) to modify it. Is it here? can any one help?
