MAN....I really gotta find some cheap FF books and give those things a try. They look great.
I love that Out of the Pit book. What would it be used for, though? Each of the books have
their own set of monsters. Is that book for designing your own adventures?

You are right that the book would be useless for playing the normal FF books.
I think FF were also made into a pen and paper style RPG. There the Pit would make sense.

I bought this book (Firetop Mountain) on Amazon for a penny plus $4 shipping. It shipped from the UK and I ordered it a few weeks back when this topic was just 2 or 3 posts. It'll be here on Nov. 17th. You were looking for something cheaper?

When my son loves it, I'll order the reprint box set (with the crappy covers). At that point he won't need the cool cover to get him interested |_P
