I'll be curious to hear more once you folks get a chance to dig in. I have to admit here that I had not even heard of this game until today (looks like 2nd KS campaign just ended today?)... Anyway, looks like it has a little bit of a Steampunk flavor, which could be cool.

I also found it intriguing that the progression of the characters seems to be dependent on which expansion they play through. That seems pretty cool, but also a bit limiting in terms of getting to use "All" of the materials available, especially at 60 bucks a piece.

Regardless, I'll look forward to reading some of your battle reports once all of this is available and has been played.

I was in the first KS and I've been playing it since it arrived in the UK, the first KS was also great value for money, a sick amount of mini's for $100!
i think the base game and its various add-ons and stretch goals are great, as a game i really like it, the minis all look awesome and are a blast to paint. it has its weak spots (all games do) but thanks to the miracle of internet, those are being addressed. there is a little bit of steam punk in there, the trickster is a very steam punk hero making a wide array of traps, with this second KS we will get the mechanical enemies (T1ck-T0cks, Kn1ghts and Prof Rustsprocket) so if your into steampunk you might like those, the bulk of the game is traditional fantasy though.
I'm not sure the progression of the characters is dependant on which expansion you 'play' first. i know the light side journeyman classes come with the shores of kanis and the dark side comes with blackwall warrens, but i don't think you're forced to take those classes when you play though it.

Thanks for the information. I admit to not fully understanding the system or what the mechanics are for progression. For example I did not realize you could play through the expansions with or without using the light or dark classes. So thanks for the clarifycation.

How does it play? Like a crawl, mini-wargame? Something else?
