I did this to a bunch too. Works better than expected. I didn't even have to reshape. Things would usually just kinda go right back to proper shape within seconds of the boiling water. Now I assume you can't dip it in boiling water after painted, without destroying the paint job. But maybe minor fixes with just the hot water/cold water? I was wondering.

I have done the hot water trick after painting, but they were varnished also. That probably helped protect the paint.

The soft ones can take a set and get off kilter too easy. But you can fix it if it wasn't to long ago the mini was stored wrong. Run it under hot water and form it into proper position, then flash it with cold water for a minute. I have fixed some really bad ones by immersing in boiling water, reshaping then flash chilling under ice water then place in the freezer for a day or two. This will fix up all but the worst of malformed PVC mini's.

I just don't buy Reaper Bones anymore. To much a pita. I prefer metal.

You shouldn't have to do this in the first place.
Oh well... No bones or finecast for me.

What is so hard about just casting in hard plastic?
I LOVE the quality of regular GW plastic kits. Hate on GW (actually I think they have become more humane since change of management) all you want, but their kits are wonderful to work with.

That's true. But the level of detail with both metal and resin is higher.
Ask mierce Miniatures if they could pull their sculpts off with plastic.
Or maybe that's a misconception and the tools for changing to plastic are too expensive for most companies.
Ask Privateer Press. They work with *lemony goodness* plastic (literally plastic made from monkey excrement, i think) and still ask the same price range as GW does.

GW is certainly not the only company whose decision making I hate on.
I'll agree though, that they have indeed opened up to their customer base, and that can be a solid first step for further improvements.
by the way, when exactly did the management change occur?
Before or after they decided to release a wave of gigantic miniatures that each can win a battle on its own and for whose individual price you can buy whole skirmish games with a dozen minis?

I love the Reaper Bones figures. I picked up a Kickstarter set off of eBay and the figures paint great and fixing a bent weapon here and there with hot water is still easier than assembling even the easier GW model kits. I fixed all of the bent weapons in one short sitting. They paint up very nice and usually have detail comparable to the metal figures they are based on. (The metal figures for some of the molds are nicer while others are the same mold and seem to have captured all or most of the detail.) While some of the more fidgety sculpts concern me with the bendability of the material, a lot of the figures have more solid sculpts like those of the Heroquest game (although with better detail).
