We use the same system with a couple variations to the wounds. We have a set of cards for them the hero randomly draws. Alhough we play the hero can act as normal when restored. They are restored with 1 bp. We play the lingering wound lasts forever unless they find some artifact of healing, but really the way to rid of the wound is by having a between quest physician that charges them a chubk of gold. It serves as a good gold sink when the olayers have enough to keep on buying anything they want.
