You could use the Blood Drop twice. My thinking being that it is a medical action so the blood drop is apt, and the extra drop causes pause and the player questions and you respond:
"That represents a 'First Aid Action'."

I really like the way you have made it board game friendly. Before I would have required the player/s to 'rest a few hours' and I would roll for a wandering monster each hour rested. These cards are much more user friendly for a board game. I will be printing these cards off eventually and replacing them in my deck with the cards they are spawned from.

One of the things I love about this forum, we are able to use each other as sounding boards, thus sharpening up the game at multiple tables.
So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

I have an "hourglass" icon now for "Investigate" Actions (aka, miscellaneous).

Thx. That's part of the very idea of my project. Everything has been very tightly worded as a boardgame.

Just finished these cards. Coupple with some incredibly helpful feedback from Count Mohawk, these should be similarly balanced to my basic cards.

Only issue I see is the rejuvenation salve.
So if I go with the second option I am reading this that I get to take an action, now I am assuming this will preclude a movement, but nothing indicates that.
Option 1 makes sense, it is the basic potion as we know it. Drink to restore 1 BP.
Option 3 seems obvious, I forgo my action to heal 3 but with such a bonus I think the movement phase would be precluded...
So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

The icon is a specific type of Action. It thus requires you use your non-movement Action to use this. The idea being that this is only on your own Activation.

The ore I think on this though, the more it needs rewording...

...and done. Less elegant, but more precise.

Great. Now I have to think about staggered effects for potions, too. |_P
Would be easily implemented into my wording and icon system.

by the way, what font size do you use there for the flowing text and the icons?

This is just great to see. I like the 8 BP potion.

Cynthia tells a story, I change a card, Slev updates his system. That's cool! And I will use the hourglass too.

I don't believe it's worthwhile for the others, just the BP heals.

if I recall correctly, the defaults are 10 Italic for the flavour, 12 for the effects and 10 Bold for the Keywords.
I've a psd file in teh "templates" section of my web site if you want.

Speak my name three times and I shall appear... :gargoyle:

First, a long-overdue plug: slev's work on Hero Quest Revised has been exemplary and inspirational. Breaking down all the confusion of the original ruleset into something that makes sense is a worthy goal. I usually allow other forum members to defend their own works, but after playing through HQR some years ago I decided to occasionally promote its virtues to the uninitiated.

Anderas wrote:This is just great to see. I like the 8 BP potion.

I like that one too. I was originally going to tell slev to change it to 7, but I let him keep it at 8 after noticing that only a Amulet of the North-toting Barbarian could get full use out of it, and only if he's really thirsty!
