Yes, I agree. The arrow being the trigger square pointing towards the rock would be a better graphical explanation, easier to understand. It would also be more consistent, the arrow and non arrow falling rocks would all fall on the same icon.

Maybe it's a map issue, though and the symbol of the Falling Rocks and the pointing arrow are simply confusing as to what's really happening.

I too have struggled with this over the years so in the end when I made my own rule book I changed them to be a lot easier. I simply made it that where the falling rock icon is on the map is where the trap is triggered and the effect takes place. This also meant that Heroes could become trapped in some quests so to combat this I created a special item in the shop called Miners Kit which allows a Hero to dig out the rubble but it takes 1D6 turns (I think) unless the a Dwarf is doing it in which case it's 1D4. During this time that can not do anything else at all otherwise the must start over. I am hoping it will work quite well the a Chaos Deck :goblin:

Personally I have found that Phoenix's rule book works well. He put all the rules books together into one book. That seems to be the rule book I always turn to. However with reading this whole thread I'm inclined now to make my own rule book, so then I can tweek both the NA and EU rule books and come up with something that might work for everyone.

:? I wonder if anyone has already done that, I'll have to look into it now. :?:

Slev was working on a pretty solid version. Sadly it seems he's gone off the radar again, last visit was 5 months ago.

Is Slev's version the one with the different colored combat dice?
Unless you specify your version I'm going by the US rules.

Yup, though his Base version of the rules is only using the White Dice (save for one instance, as I recall, where a green one is used instead - but you can proxy a green one with a white one anyway). His Advanced Rules make extensive use of the colored dice, though.

You know the worst part of this, is after up said that a light bulb went off in my head and I remembered Slev posting something about it. :smack: I have most of the stuff Inn members have made and posted here saved, the problem is I can't find it. I thought it was on my desktop but I can't find it there. It's probably on one of my SD cards or something.

I know this is a little off topic but can we even get the colored dice anymore. I remember a member was waiting on a order and asked them to post something when they got them. I haven't heard anything back in over a year.

Regarding the colored dice, Spielwarensaloon is still producing them, so if you're in Euroland or don't mind ordering across the pond, you can get them from him.

Slev's work on Hero Quest Revised, version 2, is still up on his site freewebs.com/heroquestrevised. He's got most of the materials, plus the first 5 Quest Books.
I kept a mirror of his first edition from 2012, and you can find the materials for that in my signature.

This is also the reason why I suggested that Slev made a legend of the various dice, especially since one or two of the colors have been changed after a while. Having a detailed legend in the rules would help properly evaluate the various rules and weapons and such that use them.

Anyway, I've personally ordered colored dice last year, on march 8th 2018 in the evening. I've received a "shipped" e-mail on march 12th 2018 and received it in hand a few days later. Keep in mind that there was a weekend in between (10th & 11th of march), so if you scratch that, the time between placing the order and having it sent over was basically 2 business days.

The dice arrived in good condition. Note that they're all hand-printed and as such, the symbols might not have consistent rotation when you compare dice of the same color. The distribution across the 6 faces is consistent, in any case.
