Working on a Big Story Arc Suggestions Wanted

I myself like collecting fan made quests and of course with the orginals like to play them in some kind of order and also planning out future ideas my self one thing that i would like is a second quest pack geared towards the elf I have the orginal one but have not seen another fan based one yet looking for like 3 solo and 7 group quests kind of thing I have things lined up for the barbain and wizard pretty well and there are 2 fan made dwarf packs out there already so I am hoping that maybe someone has seen or made one that they would like to share with the community I'd be happy to know about.

If anyone is intrested in my story arc ideas let me know. Just to give some insight many of the quests are made from alot of sources and vary in difficulty and some are plans that I am working on slowly. Roughly "The Plan" is to make it a 50 Chapter story arc thats including the orginal sets and many from the community here and other sites which once I'm done with the list I will give credit on the list and links where to find them and eventually make the rest of what I have plans for but as its planned out to be the major story arc I like to call HQ III aka 3 is to be 525 quests. Been working on this for awhile glad to finally share this major idea ive had! Well that wraps it up for now goodnight my fellow comrades!

Yeah its like version 3 un my mind the orginal the hq advanced and 2.5 would be like what i saw being put togther at heroquest revised and stuff here and then the big story arc im working on putting all of it together now mind you the community is has done most of the work i am going to try and add some to it to complete my idea to wrap it all up but thats maybe 10% the rest is community all you great quest makers out there this is to show off their work and show how good heroquest is and how we expanded it and kept it alive! So I maybe helping a bit trying to put toegther everything but cheers and props and honors to all scribes and quests makers and all who contribute here and other sites too!

525 quests? Unless it's just for your own leisure, this sounds horrifying!
If I was browsing for quests and saw one labelled "HQ3 - 525 quests" I would skip it. It's just too overwhelming.
Even if it's a connected storyline it's just too much.
The original quest packs are like 12? quests, and yet the can be a little tough to get through.

If it's some kind of collection/anthology project, why not split it up in portions of 10 quests or something?

Maybe I'm not quite grasping your idea though?

Yeah i think I need to explain it better then basically its taking all the quests and quest packs made plus some of my own ideas to be finished later to make a big storline for hq basically what my idea is to put it a little more simple i have broke it down to 50 chapters for the over all story for heroquest and mocar/zorgon involving over 50 quests packs to do at your own speed more or less the main story if your were doing an a rpg some chapters are 10 quests like most quest packs some will be a little more there are a few that were shorter like dark company its one quest but 4 boards for example and there are a few chapters i tied a couple of packs together but of course take breaks in between packs to do other quests basically "side quests" and this is merely a suggestion to play some quest packs in a order that i think would be intresting we all have our own ideas just sharing mine hopefully that makes more sense and dosnt scare you from my idea!

To reasure you double checked my reference most are 10 quests a quests packs only 7 are more than that which the
1 orginal pack was 14 so that is one
2 is a pack with 11 quests
3 16 quests pack
4 a pack with 13
5 another with 15
6 then towards the end a hard 15 quests
7 then the last chapter a hard 20 quests

note all these 7 packs mentioned wont be all togther ethier they are spread out through normal 10 quests-quest packs only number 6 and 7 are together which are in the works as my idea as a ending the struggle with mocar/zorgon and deffinetly advised to make sure you are ready before starting 6 or 7 which would be ch 49 and 50 of the story arc also i have plans for just nice just for fun or side quest-quest packs to break up the crazy questing which i will be reavling my idea for a nice short 5 quest pack that you may like its not made yet but idea is will post that here in a few...

just consider how long it takes to play 1 quest. I've seen some quests that can be done in half an hour to an hour (that's always roughly what I aim for when making quests) but some can take a few hours to get through just one quest. how long would it take to get through 525?

Ok back from a long day at work anyway it seems to be confusion still on what my idea is so here it is more simply and a sample.

This is just a story arc or guide of which quests/quest packs to do in a order for like a big story line and some of it is in the idea stage for some packs im still orgininzing and tweaking and adding more story in between and eventually some i plan to make. So it is planned 50 chapters and here is the starting idea.

Chapter I The Gathering Storm (the orginal quest book plus two prologue quests)

Chapter II Kellar's Keep

Chapter III Return of the Witch Lord

Chapter IV Against the Ogre Horde

Chapter V The Wizards of Mocar

Chapter VI The Dark Company (play dark company then tears of times passed quest then plans for two more quests for this chapter)

This is what I'm meaning making a list of the packs and quests and putting them in an order also will provide links and credit to those who created the quests which tears of times passed was not made by me and will give credit to them once I find the souce but it is avible on ye old inn for download. Later chapter I am wanting to make and add some myself hope this clears up the confusion this is not a big pack idea just a storline for the game in general like a guide.

I think linking all of the Quests you find into a list can be useful for browsing purposes. Creating chapter names is no problem, but renaming Quests might prove confusing for those who are searching for known Quests. Maybe you could provide the original title in parenthesis.

I'm not sure how you plan to order Quests for their appropriate difficulty level. That would matter to me more than a narrative structure. As an example, if a group has played through all of the published Quests, it wouldn't be appropriate to introduce those kitted-out Heroes into the start of The Chronicles of Sir Ragnar--it would be a cake walk. However, if you could meet balance considerations of 500+ Quests and assemble it all together as a narrative whole, that would be something. Perhaps new Heroes should be introduced at appropriate intervals.
