My verdict: 1st one, The Chaos God Awakens.

Awakening the Chaos God sounds good at first, too, but gives the impression of the Heroes actively and deliberately awakening the God.
Mind you, the narrative is centered around the Heroes (Against the Ogre Horde is analogous to that).
That may be me and my having studied too much linguistics, anyhow.

Also good and my second choice by a narrow margin: The Awakening of the Chaos God.
The introducing article is crucial, here. Don't do it without the 'The'. I can't even explain why, but everything in me votes for using the article.
Daedalus might have an idea what I mean and even be able to explain...

I'd almost go with Return of the Chaos God, but that's unfortunately not such a good idea for reasons we all know...

A small note about quest 9:
It's either Spirit Valley (the valley's name), or Spirit's Valley (if there is just one spirit haunting the valley). (Or Valley of the Spirits). Spirits Valley seems wrong.

In the first quest you mention "for Zargon's eyes only". Is Zargon actually used in the original text, or is it just to be consistent with the format of the US questbook?

Zargon isn't mentioned in the Japanese at all. They refer to that role (the role of game master) as the "Evil Wizard". But just like many of my other localization choices, I opted for standard HeroQuest terminology and processes rather than the invented Japanese stuff.

I have to disagree. It's "Spirits Valley" because I think the idea is that the valley could be full of spirits. Of course, another appropriate wording would have been "Valley of Spirits" but there were already too many Quests called "X of Y" so I just went with the more direct "YX" to break up the monotony a bit.

Well, I would still call it the Spirit Valley then, it seems more gramatically correct in my opinion.
