@ Gold Bearer

Fimirs was in fact an old Warhammer Fantasy arm. There exist quite a bit of lore around them.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fimir

There are even official support for them in a sense through Forgeworld:

Fimir are evil. They worship dark gods. They have been selected for elimination by the biosphere/evolution, yet they use dark sorcery to maintain their numbers. They are in liege with Zargon/Morcar.
What more do you need?
So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

Cornixt... You've either read a lot of fantasy novels or you should be writing them. So many excellent ideas, such a spark to the imagination, it's on fire!!!

Hero Player "so about this elephant"
EWP "what elephant?"
Hero Player "there's an elephant in that room"
EWP shrugs shoulders.

I doubt i could pull the mini from the box and place it in the room with out laughing. I'm so amused by this.

I didn't know they were in WH. I've only played the 4thEd. I came up with the idea of a fimir matriarch that could cast spells and would also allow other fimir in the same room or corridor to cast but I might use the established fimir variants now. Fimir ogres sound nice.

Visit any kids' toy store. They usually have a section with animals or zoos with bags upon bags of miniature animals. I'm sure you can get your 800 pound gorilla that way as well. :)

Goblin-King wrote:There are only ever two open doors on the board. Each time a new door is opened the earliest opened door vanishes.

Or;
- there's two opposing doors where one's open and the other's closed and they close the other when opened
- the combination opened / closed status of three doors determines the visibility of something else like an exit or important / trivial door

cornixt wrote:* Waters Rising. The water level is rising in the dungeon. Have a water level marker at the side of the board, showing how it becomes more difficult to get around at certain stages (such as -1 to movment, -2 to movement,... D6 movement only). At the end of each monster turn, the level moves up one.

I like this. We've played a few cooperative games lately like Forbidden Desert and I was thinking that in a quest you might pass the comment that as they go along a hallway, it's going downhill (use the KK corridor stair tiles). Later when they're in water (because it's flooded to start with or it's triggered by an event) and the water starts to rise, those tiles identify what floor you're on so you know where higher ground is. Also, the flooding might have four water levels with movement limits;

ankle - limited to 9 squares
waist - limited to highest face rolled +1
neck - limited to lowest face rolled +1
submerged - you drown if magically unaided

The dwarf movement is one level on from the others. The change of water level could be controlled by an event, a regular rate or dice. There could be combat penalties too.

Count Mohawk wrote:On sort of the same track as cynthia's last idea, I had a Quest once where the center room had to be visited multiple times and changed each time the Heroes visited it by means of a pair of portals which eventually led to the Quest exit.

You could have something that triggers all the players to close their eyes and the EWP changes something on the board and they are left to see if they notice it.

Firir types in Warhammer:

Mergha: Female, infertile, powerful wizards.
Driach: Male, wizards.
Shearl: Male servant caste
Fim: Male warrior class, split into Nobles (upper class), Fiahna (middle class) and Warrior (lower class).

Your common HQ Fimir would be a Fim Warrior.
