I think its supposed to be referencing boldness or courage, as in such is required to brave the forest. Vale of Valor or Badassitude Valley.

Here are my opinions:

The map that's included in the original Japanese version says (in English): "Spirits Valley" and I'm not inclined to change things unless I feel it's necessary.

Now let me just say that I'm ALL for changing something that sounds Engrish-y or that is just plain wrong. I did "localize" several of the other names on the map differently. For the record, those are:
- "Neef" to "Nifon"(though now I wish I'd just gone with "Nippon" now that I know there's precedence for it in Warhammer)
- "Feen" to "Nofin"
- "Godo" to "Godor")
Those changes were because the original versions were just too silly and Engrishy. If "Spirits Valley" was a similar issue where it just sounded weird or was wrong somehow, I'd be all for changing the Japanese intent. But it doesn't sound silly and it isn't wrong.

The issue is mainly whether we believe that the Japanese intent is "spirit" as in "ghosts" or "spirit" as in "courage". If it "courage", then absolutely it should be singular, no question, because THEN "Spirits Valley" would be Engrishy and would need to be changed.

UPDATE:
And I'm starting to lean this way. I just reread the original Google-translated Japanese and I really don't think it has anything to ghosts after all. And now that that translator fellow has confirmed it is "courage" and not "ghosts"... I do think it should be changed. But if that's the case, to avoid confusion, I would go a step further and change it to Valor Valley or some such.

I decided to go ahead and update the Quest and the name on the map. They've both been updated with "Valor Valley".

Now I'm having difficulty deciding on a cover. Here are the two options I've come up with (along with a second version of one:
