Sure! Have fun!

I'm not sure how well the Chaos Gods map to the horsemen's 4 areas, but I'm sure they can be made to work.

Khorne is the god of anger and violence. Tzeentch is sorcery, change, and manipulation. Slaanesh is excess, indulgence, and passion. And Nurgle is disease, decay, destruction, and death.

OR, Morcar dies, but when you take out his top four commanders, his spell is completed and he is resurrected. Morcars tricked the heroes into bringing him back! :p

I was thinking of doing something close to that by the end of the quest packs. Where if the heroes don't stop the Chaos Gods Zargon/Morcar would be resurrected.

Unfortunately this project has been getting pushed to the side lately with running my department at work, trying to find an apartment, my divorce

So I came up with a few ideas for some monsters for this quest pack. Thoughts........

Name: Skeleton Commander
Movement: 8
Attack: 3
Defense: 3
Body Points: 2
Mind Points: 2
Special Ability: When other skeletons are in the commanders line of sight, they roll 1 extra combat dice for both attack and defense.

I personally think the skeleton could be a really great monster in the game, but it needs an extra little something and that's what I come up with.

Now this I took from a different idea I had for a quest pack (Attack of The Orc Clans). I know Inn members have made there own ideas for Black Orc's. I just decided to do something a little different with them.

Name: Black Orc Clan
Movement: 8
Attack: 4
Defense: 3
Body Points: 3
Mind Points: 5
Special Ability: If a black shield is rolled on an attack it counts as a skull. "OR" If a black shield is rolled on an attack it can be re-rolled once.

New Trap Idea.

I don't know if anyone has done this yet or not, I couldn't find anything about it.

Oil Trap:

Boiling oil falls from the top of the doorway. Roll one combat die, if a skull is rolled, the hero suffers one body point of damage and is burned. Every turn after the hero must roll one combat die, if a skull is rolled they suffer one body point of burning damage until cured.

Cure Burns Idea:

I was thinking of calling it.......Body Lotion

This magical ointment cream soothes and cools your skin and cures your burns.

So, I was sitting at my desk at work the other day and an idea popped into my head for this quest pack.

Vampires and Werewolves.

I know that there has been talk about Vampires before on here and I looked at what was created for them. Which was very cool by the way, but I'm looking for something a little different myself.

Vampire

Movement - 10
Attack - 3 (it was 2 but I just decided to change it to 3)
Defense - 4
Body Points - 3
Mind Points - 5

Special Abilities - Anytime an attack is not blocked by a hero, the Vampire restores that many body points. The Vampire can't exceed a total of 3 Body Points.

So say the Vampire has 1 body point left and attacks one of the heroes

Attack roll - :skull: :skull: :blackshield:
Defense roll - :skull: :blackshield: :whiteshield:

The Vampire now has 2 body points.

I was also thinking of doing some special weapon that can kill the Vampire, like the Sprite Blade can kill the Witch Lord.

As for the Werewolf. I'm not sure yet how I want to put that monster together. I'm thinking of a quest that a NPC is saved that turns and attacks the heroes.

Thoughts anyone?

my personal opinion is that vampires, werewolves AND the four horsemen are a lot to pack into one quest pack.
i made a whole quest pack around vampires (ancient vampire imprisoned under a cathedral, SPOILERS he escapes) and another one around werewolves (chaos wizard testing a lycanthropy virus out on a remote village)
I had three different strengths of vampire though

Yeah I read that, thanks.

I was thinking of turning the Four Horsemen into Four Chaos Gods, but trying to get away from the religious part of this has been very hard.

Death is easy, I can still call him (it) the Chaos God of Death and no one would know the difference and use Undead creatures like Skeletons and Mummies.
War not so easy, because Chaos is apart of war. So should I really have a Chaos God of Chaos....... :? :smack:
Conquest not so easy either, it's an act of war to force the control something. Which circles back to War, no point in having TWO God's of Chaos, I mean War no wait Chaos..... :o :? :(
So instead of Conquest, I could use Pestilence. Which works but again can circle back to Death and the Undead, like Zombies, Vampires, monster that cause infections or diseases.
Famine is a little easier, (if I don't use Pestilence) but if I'm not careful it will circle back to Death. By using Dire Rats, Rats. But on the other side of that coin it can circle back to Pestilence because rats can cause death and diseases.

What a monster I have created here.

So I'm trying to come up with ideas of types of Chaos gods that would have the properties of the Horseman and what kind of monsters I could use. Like the Vampire being the Chaos God of Pestilence only not called that. Honestly I'm throwing ideas out that come to mind that may never be used in the quest pack. Just to get some feed back from everyone.

Larry, Moe, Curly, and Curly Joe (or Shemp?)

Postby Kurgan » December 12th, 2020, 12:46 pm

Use classic Universal Monsters:

Count Dracula

The Wolfman (werewolves are already canon in HQ, but while a brute he's still got some intellect, walking upright, can use tools, etc.)

The Mummy (and here I don't just mean any Mummy, if there are regular Mummies in the quest pack, you could have him be essentially like the Necromancer, or a Wight or the Witch Lord).

Frankenstein's Monster

Actually you could sub those around any way you want to justify it. The Vampire is undead so he could be death, but he's an aristocrat and a warrior so he could be conquest or war and the vampire disease spreads, etc. Frankenstein's Monster is revived from corpses and he is out for revenge (war), etc.

Each of the characters has a bestial or savage monster side and a calculating evil intellectual side, but it slides off. The classic novel Frankenstein's Monster is actually smart, while the movie version tends to be a dumb brute. Could be a very interesting pack, have you worked on it since?
