That's good to know. Are you using the stat line that you posted in this thread for the dragons stats? How well do they work out?

I was thinking about making it like

Body: 15
Mind: 5

Attack: 6 dice
Defend: 6 dice

Plus giving it a few of the chaos spells. (Fear, Ball of Flame, and Firestorm)

The skaven must defeat the dragon before they can cross the bridge to confront Korak-Image

My dragon rules are as follows (but are as yet untested and require special 12 sided sided dragon dice, available off ebay probabaly, if you look up "dragon dice" it's a table top battle game that uses dice instead of units of miniatures and looks a bit poo.)-

The orientation of the dragon figure is important in combat. The dragon may first turn to face an adjacent player before attacking. The dragon can choose to attack any one player it is facing with 12 combat dice. The dragon will usually attack a character that has caused it damage.

The dragon can then make an additional random attack for each 7 body points it has remaining, using a pair of, or one single dragon dice. When the dragon dice are rolled the pictograms determine which positions surrounding the dragon may be attacked and how many combat dice are rolled.

Following the dragon's attack it may move. The dragon may move through occupied squares because it is practically unstoppable. The dragon cannot move through single square width doors and corridors.

The dragon is unaffected by fire, fire spells or spells that use fire.

I hope this give others some fresh ideas on special rules for larger creatures. The idea is that the stats should make players think twice about facing it when there is a possibility they will get killed in the first attack wave. In my quest the heroes have the opportunity to team up with orcs who are also seeking to slay the dragon, this gives the heroes safety in numbers.

HeroQuest and Talisman 3rd Dragons Tower UPDATED Dragon Pics

Postby Ryno » February 9th, 2011, 12:52 pm

Has anyone ever put these two together? I just got my copy of dragons tower from eBay http://boardgamegeek.com/image/225679/t ... size=large

I thought it would be an epic way to battle a dragon in heroquest. How would you implement? What kind of stats, abilities or otherwise would you give to a dragon?

Very impressive Ethica.
So am I right in thinking the dragon attacks once with 12 dice, then the dragon dice roll attacks come in? twice more if it has 14+ BP. Depending on where heroes are standing next to the Dragon determines who gets hit and how.

What is the size of the dragon you play with, 3x6 squres?

Also, where do i get the dragon fire template?

Thanks!

Yup. (I'm glad it makes sense)

The base of the dragon I have is 4x4.

I posted it in another thread I think. I'll attach it here when I get home.

I made everything apart from the green dragon icon in the middle of the attack squares diagram. I believe that was done by the guy who makes the Heroscribe utility, he's done some really good icons I use in my quests but I don't think I've ever been able to get heroscribe to work for me.

That looks great!Seeing this, my head just started sparkling with ideas about cardboard 3d-expansions for heroquest.
I'd like to do some of my own and upload them here...
As if I haven't wasted enough time already for HQ projects in the last months...
Have a look ;)
