I believe the intent with that rule was the Mist couldn't be hard/affected by any attack or spell other than by the Spirit Blade and Tempest.

For the poison monster in question, i think it would make more sence to have the damage delt on zargon's turn in place of attacking, that way it can be done either befor or after it moves. Anyway, i like the idea of posion, but i'd do it completely diffrent. I'd have it be if any damage gets through from a regular attack then the hero becomes posioned and then on the hero's turn he takes one bp of damage every turn until he drinks an antidote, is cleansed by either healing spell, or it wears off after 4 turns is the hero is still alive.
Just say "No" to Chaos Magic.

I would think about maybe giving at least some chance to defend against this.
If you want to make it really hard...make the heroes have to roll for a Body Check
(combat dice equal to their current body score), and they would have to roll at least
2 or 3 BLACK SHIELDS...this would be very hard, but still possible.

So r u saying that you can defend it as usual but the amount of dice is how many bp ur on. So if the barbarian was on 4 bp he can roll 4 dice and however many black shields you get that's how many u defend. But this only does 1 bp per turn so they r most likely 2 defend it.

I had a new thought about poisoned enemies.

I have it so that they attack as normal but if they roll all skulls then it's a poison attack which if not fully defended makes the hero poisoned. They then lose 1 body point per turn (morcars turn) until they die or are healed. This way it's not too likely that it'll happen but it's quite bad if it does.

I also have one creature whose stats drop as its body points drop, so the more you kill it the more likely it is that it could sting you.

Here is something I've been working with for poison:
A creature does its damage as normal...it can either be all poison, or only one point of that damage is poison.
That damage cannot be healed normally, but a spell or healing potion. SO...the hero has a permanently lower
body point level until he gets a venom antidote or is healed by a "heal poison" spell...something like that.

I must admit though - reading over this thread again - I like the idea of the monster causing poison damage
only at a certain time - all skulls, for example. Perhaps, instead of a normal attack, it can choose to try and
poison the target, and it would have to roll for black shields. That would make it difficult, but could be very
dangerous.

And then, the hero would roll defense based on his current body points, as stated before, and would have to
roll white shields, as normal, to block each point of poison. AND THEN...he would still keep that damage until
he got his hands on a venom antidote.

OOOO - I think I'm going to use this...that's vicious.
