I wasn't kidding when I said we were looking for a necromancer. You just got lucky with me finding HQ on the interweb and us having a session that night all falling into place so nicely, as game sessions happen once a month in a good month. We also suffeled the necro deck after each spell was drawn as this just seemed the right thing to do. But looking now, that isn't included in the rules anywere.

I'm looking for or old Necro Hero that we made ourselves that didn't see much use. (He was basicaly a wizard with 9 spells that dealt with undead and life steal and such), I'll post him if I find him.

On a side note how is it that I have been playing HQ for the majority of my life and didn't think to google it until now? I had no clue there was all this cool stuff on the interweb. But that is for another topic I believe.

On a side note how is it that I have been playing X for the majority of my life and didn't think to google it until now?

Thus the invention of internet pR0n.

Ethica - sorry but i make my cards in microsoft paint, it doesnt have a centre option im afraid! :(

Sad- you dont need to shuffle the deck each time, just shuffling it at the start of the quest is fine. if i expand this magic system i will create new artefacts that deal with the deck itself, e.g.:

Holy Monocle - The owner may play with the top card of his deck turned face up.
Arcane spinner - once per quest, look at the top three cards of your deck, you may place one in your hand, place one on the bottom of the deck and discard the other.
Mentors Mirror - use this item once per quest. after using it you draw cards from the bottom of the deck and return cards to the top of the deck.

Leave Tott's cards alone. They are way better then the lined papper I'm used to using. :)

I was thinking, you could always have any of these artifacts as well:

Vial of Blood - The owner may skip paying 1 body point required to cast a spell. Discard after use. Necromancer only.
Crimson Spectacles - Whenever you see a monster or hero die look at the top card of your deck. You may return this card to the top of your deck or place it on the bottom of your deck. Necromancer only.
Undead Mantle - All undead creatures you have raised or created roll one additional attack and defense dice while you wear this mantle. Necromancer Only
Unholy Staff - 1 combat die. 2 hands. Diagonal Attack. You can spend your action and 1 body point to summon a skeleton. The skeleton can move and attack immediatly and at the end of each of your future turns. Necromancer only.

What do you think?

I think there's nothing 'unholy' about Necromancy at all.
It's all of the great Dragon, Trang Oul.

This is actually a Lich; wearing the full guise of Trang Oul; something that many Necromancers and not a few wizards also aspire to.

So if the staff was renamed Skull Staff (or something a little less lame, that I will think of in the future) no one would get mad at me?

I like your style, can I use a couple of these spells to develop my Hero Conjurer, at the moment he raises Zombies, loses one Body Point per Hatching, then regains it if the beast kills a Monster, max. of 3 Zombies. I like the Vial of Blood, Unholy Staff & Undead Mantle. How long should the Mantle last?
