As opposed to an effect that uses combat dice or "attacks (you) with X combat dice".

On the other hand, since this is a hero spell and will mostly be targeted at monsters and there aren't many spellcasters among them, I guess I could also leave it as is.
The easiest way would be to edit the Rust spell:
Rust
This water spell may be cast on any one figure that does not have any spell cards at its disposal. From now on and until it dies, the target figure must ignore one skull on each of its attack rolls.
