Rust Spell for Heroes

Postby knightkrawler » September 6th, 2014, 3:22 am

A new rust spell for Heroes, as used by yours truly for the Elementalist. Thought I'd share cause the original wording is so specific, which is why I first wanted to reword it, which was way too complicated, so I just changed it more or less completely. The wording though, is still very very specifically cut out for my ruleset. You'll get the gist, though.

Rust
This water spell may be cast on any one figure. From now on and until it dies, the target figure must ignore one skull on each of its attack rolls.

Small grammatical correction for you:

Rust
This water spell may be cast on any one figure. From now on and until it dies, the target figure must ignore one skull on each of its attack rolls.

Would this affect a Lightning Bolt or similar spell that uses Combat Dice to attack?

I define an attack roll as a roll of dice a "figure makes" with its attack strength and, related and in addition to that, as one of the actions a figure is allowed.
As opposed to an effect that uses combat dice or "attacks (you) with X combat dice".
I'll have to look over the wordings of my spells, though. Thanks for the question.
On the other hand, since this is a hero spell and will mostly be targeted at monsters and there aren't many spellcasters among them, I guess I could also leave it as is.

The easiest way would be to edit the Rust spell:
Rust
This water spell may be cast on any one figure that does not have any spell cards at its disposal. From now on and until it dies, the target figure must ignore one skull on each of its attack rolls.

...does not have...
...does not have left...
...is not having...
There's always interpretation.
