This is way overpowered, I think.

I like it a lot. The exact wording leaves room for improvement, but it's easy to understand how it works.

I don't think it's overpowered at all - especially not for an artifact. I mean... you'd have to be lucky enough to even roll a skull on ONE die to get the ball rolling.
And rolling a skull is 1 50/50 chance!
Compare it to simply rolling four dice with the battle axe or spirit blade.
Sure you have the potential to roll infinite skulls, but half the time you won't even roll one! Even the spear rolls an average of one at least...

Nice. I don't think it's overpowered either. I like that it can potentially cause a lot of damage but most of the time won't cause any. Great weapon for the Wizard.

This weapon fits perfectly on a Thief classed hero, especially played by a gambler!

In one incarnation it gave 2 dice for its base attack. I dropped iy down to 1 die but it seems that I only changed the number. Oops.
