Pug, Attack of the Ogre Horde! (Pug, maybe better to just quote the parts of messages you refer to if needed, rather than the whole messages:-) it takes up a lot of room that way!)

Tott, nice mixture of Artifacts. I like the idea of the Rune Weavers Gloves!!

now this is an idea with potential... you could have one spell in each set that scales with mind points rather than a fixed number, i.e.

Water of healing - heals for points equal to the casters minnd points
Fire of Wrath - deals damage equal to the casters mind points
Genie - attacks with combat dice equal to casters mind points
Heal body - heals for points equal to the casters minnd points

but were bit off-topic for this thread tho... :p

May be going too strong if Fire of Wrathe deals damage equal to say 6 dice, wizard. This will then put it on par with Genie.
I have already made a couple of extra spells that require a Mind >7 to cast. These spells may go in a seperate spell set, or I may add them one at a time gradually as Wizard progresses.

I may create a one-off spell for the wizard that will allow him to magically alter one weapon / armour so that he can wield / wear it. This item will have a short lived life though, so lasts one quest before it loses the enchantment and he cannot use again.

hmmm, fire of wrath = deals 1 point of damage to a number of enemies up to the casters mind points. (so a wizard could do 1 point to up to 6 enemies)

but curse you all, im getting addicted to making this armour now - ive come up with loads!

Sigvald’s Shield
A bright and polished shield, the wicked spikes around it hint at the true nature of its master.
Allows one extra combat dice in defence. If the user blocks all damage from an attack, the attacker takes one point of damage.

Phoenix Gauntlets
A pair of fine silver and gold plated gauntlets, a large ruby sits in each one.
Allows 1 extra combat dice in defence. If the user is reduced to zero body points, the magic of the gauntlets will restore him to life with 2 body points, effect can occur only once per quest.

Kanaron’s Signet Ring
An expensive and elaborate ring, crusted with a few drops of dried blood…
Allows an extra 2 combat dice in defence, but only when the wearer is reduced to two or less body points.

Swordmasters Gloves
A pair of thick yet intricately woven mail gauntlets
Allows one extra combat dice in defence. In addition you may reroll 1 combat die per attack. May not be worn by the wizard.

Holy Shield
A shining, polished metal shield etched with holy symbols in gold and silver.
Allows extra combat dice in defence. When fighting undead all defence rolls automatically gain one bonus white shield. May not be used by the wizard.

Athil’isin - Shield of the High Born Guardians
A sturdy Elven shield once used by the royal guard of Linn’I’ad, it still shines despite its great age.
Allows one extra combat die in defence. Whenever a friend or ally in the same room or corridor takes damage, you may choose to transfer the first point of that damage to yourself. May not be used by the wizard.

ok. i will learn how to make cards and then give it a go. currently im thinking of them faster than i could make the cards though!

Fimir Skin Armour
This thick padded leather armour was made from the skin of a dead Fimir shaman and still retains some of his mystic properties.
Grants two combat dice in defence. After combat the wearer may roll one combat die, if it lands on a black skull, you may restore up to one lost body point.

Ancient Bone Helmet
A strange helmet made from the skull of an ancient and long forgotten creature.
Allows one extra combat in defence. The wearer of the helmet is invisible to all skeletons. They will not attack unless the wearer attacks them first. May not be used by the wizard.

Lightning Shield
A Dark wooden buckler, the small onyx gem in the middle occasionally crackles with electrical energy.
Allows one extra combat dice in defence. If the player blocks all damage from an attack, the magic of the shield stuns the attacker and forces them to lose their next turn. May not be used by the wizard

i should hopefully be posting two new questpacks up soon, these will each have ten random loot artefacts with them, some of the items ive posted here will be included as well as new weapons and various other trinkets.

Spring-Heeled Boots
A pair of… strange… mechanical boots. Probably safe to wear.
Allows one extra combat dice in defence. The wearer may vault over a maximum of one space occupied by monsters or traps to land the other side, providing he has sufficient movement to do so. May not be used by the wizard

im including this fairly epic weapon as well cos it does boost defence:

Lifebringer
A Sturdy axe made of shining Elven steel and thick Golden Oak, it carries the blessings of the forest spirits within it!
Grants two combat dice in attack and one extra dice in defence. Whenever an attack is successful, The Lifebringer restores up to one lost body point. If the user is at full health, Lifebringer may restore up to one lost body point to one ally in the same room or corridor. May not be used by the wizard.

hehe, help this mans hemorrhaging ideas!

I like the bone helmet the best.

Like you said earlier, there isn't enough room on the cards for your text. The game system cards don't tend to have historical/visual descriptions of the items on them anyway. You could put the rules for the artifact on the card and the historical/visual description in the quest notes, to be read when the item is found.
