Is it an American thing to roll 5 or 6 instead of white shields? The odds should be the same, and it is damage you are trying to defend against.

It izz. I always replace red dice with combat die probabilities whenever possible. So, white shield instead of a 5 or a 6. The combat dice are the *lemony goodness*.
The NA usage of red dice instead of combat dice for those rolls is one thing I don't like about this version.
