Best way to print custom cards with professional printer?

Pretty sure in the UK version I have upstairs the cards are 54 by 80mm.

No probs, I'll get them down later to measure. I need to scan them anyway, I'm failing to get any scans on here so might as well do it myself

So based on this thread I guess the NA and European versions did indeed have slightly different sized cards, for some reason: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=4895

I have the USA game system. Measuring the cards with a ruler I get 56.5mm x 88.5mm...so 0.5mm on both dimensions shy of a Bridge card which is 57 x 89 mm or 2.25 x 3.5 in.

Just an update to this topic for those looking for personal use professional printing, i recently changed to use boardgamesmaker.com instead of thegamecrafter due to tgc not printing cards with hq images on them due to copyright, even when they are for personal use only. I switched over to boardgamesmaker and was shocked by the excellent quality. The gloss cards are phenominal in coloring and the centering of the cards was Much more accurate than tgc. In 875 cards there wasnt a single one with any notable drift when printing. It was outstanding. It was a little bit pricier though. But based on quality, they are my go to hands down.

Did it take long to upload and sort the files and what size did you use?

It was pretty easy. It is nice because you can change the cards very easily on it. I used their us game card szie which is 56mm x 87mm. They do carry other sizes as well. I will try to get the custom cards beside the originals for a picture in the next few days for you.

Hi, yes I can confirm that the UK version cards are 54x80mm - same as Catan cards. I actually just tried some home card making last night and was very happy with the results. I printed off the UK version equipment cards, since my NA copy has none and the style is superior in my opinion, from the cards section on this site. I didnt do double sided as they didn't matchup correctly, but instead just printed the fronts and backs. I used a glue stick and lined them up as best I could (actually quite easy and accurate under a light) and pressed them hard together.

Once this was done I used my wife's home laminator and ran them through twice, had 9 cards on a piece of paper, and let them sit. I cut them with a paper trimmer and put them inside a heavy book overnight. This morning they are awesome! I am going to sleeve them as usual with any cards and I am quite happy! Tonight I am going to make copies of all the spells, treasure, etc as well as lots of custom cards people have posted here. Truly HQ is at its best on this site and I am so happy to have all the materials right here. Thanks Ye Olde Inn!!
