I'm not sure about evade. It's very underpowered and it's better if you're more heavily armoured, it should be worse.

I think that the name that is what's wrong here, not the mechanic. Maybe Steadfast or Sturdy would work better.

Yea same thing really. I should have said the name doesn't match the skill. I suppose it's not underpowered because they'll likely get the skill when the have at least three or four defence dice.

Maybe they could learn one skill for every so many completed quests. I like that it makes hero deaths mean more.

Spell Acquisition: When the EWP discards a spell you can take it to replace one of your own. It might be a bit too good if you them them choose one so I think it should replace a random spell. That would make them think about whether the spell is worth the risk. I really like that, I might change my Acquisition spell to that.

My suggestions:

• Make them 1 use only, not like spells.
• Introduce a simple XP system i.e. let's say each completed quest rewards the hero with XP=final B.P. and each card costs 5 xp.
  A hero may then cross off 5 xp and purchase an available skill card.
• Design more cards and run a pbp to see how it works!

Where did you get the image to enrage from?

Well I borrowed it from Champion of the Empire. I would love to know where it originates from myself.

I knew I had seen that Enrage image somewhere, but I just couldn't place it...until now. It is a cropped, B&W version of a color image from Hero Quest: A Marvel Winter Special. You can see the original on the fifth page, second panel of the United We Stand? comic (p.26 of the MWS.) With similar color reduction, the MWS could be converted into a treasure trove of art for fan use.
