So I placed an order online for the card decks from your first post and just received them the other day and they look awesome. Our game night is scheduled for this Friday and can't wait to try them out with the expanded rules. I'll have to wait and try your newest cards later since I dropped a lot of money for the new cards to be printed. Thanks so much for the detailed response to my last questions. Sorry it's taking me so long to respond. What would you recommend as far as the order to play all of the quests? Currently we are more than halfway through the base set. After that is done I was thinking of 1) Kellars Keep then 2) Return of the Witch Lord, 3) Frozen Horror and then finally the 4) Mage of the Mirror. Would you play it any different or in a different order? I know there are other quests out there like fan made ones and ones published in magazines. Thanks

Question for you GimmeYerGold...I played through three (3) quests last night with friends of mine (almost done HQ). We used five (5) heroes this time, adding the bard character. I used all of the custom cards you posted here with expanded rules and it was so much fun! We didn't want to stop playing. Ended up playing till 3:30am this morning :p . I have a few questions that I was hoping you could answer for me.

1) I see that Bard gets 6 spells. Not sure about the monk, it didn't say on his character card. From all of your custom cards, which classes of spells could the bard and monk choose from? All of them including the original HQ spells? I noticed that your time spells have six (6) cards and the illusion cards have nine (9) spells. Should the bard get the time spells? Who would use the Illusion spells? I guess what I am asking is how do the spells get divided up between the wizard, elf, bard and monk.

2) Can you explain the different level artifact cards and how they are used? Not sure how the different levels are played. I see that most of them are from the original HQ set and probably some of the others are from the expansion packs?

3) Can you explain the Alchemy cards and how they are used? I see that there are four (4) different levels. Each card has a gold value listed but it doesn't match the gold price in the equipment spreadsheet with the four (4) tier levels. Can these potions be purchased in between quests. I see there are some cards in the deck that are not in the equipment spreadsheet.

4) How do you determine the skill level of each monster? I didn't see a level indicated on the monster cards. Reason I ask is when you parley with a monster, you state that the monster has to be at your experience level or weaker so I wasn't sure if we could parley with some of the stronger monsters like the chaos warriors, fimir and mummys.

Thanks again for this great expansion set of cards and rules. Loving this!

Any progress on this? I'm building a custom HQ set and some new cards would be a great addition.

It occurs to me that you may be asking this in the wrong thread. GimmeYerGold has re-released many of these cards elsewhere:

As for your questions, I am not GYG but I'm going to take a crack at these anyway:

1. The Heroes can divvy up their allotment of spells however they want. Usually one "spell group" counts as three spells, though, so for those groups with more than 3 spells, the Hero would probably have to take 3 and discard the rest, or else take that group twice to keep 6, etc.

2. I believe that Artifacts and equipment are given a Level as a restriction on who can use them. The Addendumomicon included with GYG's cards indicates that Heroes level up once for each four Quests they complete; thus, a Hero with 4 Quests under his or her belt could use weapons, armor and Artifacts up to Level 2, 8 Quests to use Level 3s, and 12 Quests to use Level 4s.

3. I extrapolate that Heroes can outright purchase Alchemy items with a Level less than or equal to their own. There may also be occasions where Heroes may find "one random Level 3 Alchemy item", for example. Also, Alchemy items cost much less than equivalent equipment of the same level because they are, by and general, one use only, whereas equipment cumulatively increases the Heroes' baseline combat statistics. (Note that Potions of Healing are priced very affordably at 200 gold each.)

4. While not printed on the cards' faces, each Monster does indeed have a level, which you can easily determine by looking at the name of the monster card image file itself.
