I'm now also reading a white dwarf magazine with paint schemes for Space Hulk!

For me alt least, the thing about Dune isn't so much that it's SUCH a great story.
It's more the setting and the ideas that are so incredible exciting to read about.
The whole concept of the Bene Gesserit being able to draw knowledge and information from the genetic memory of their entire bloodline.
Human computers, human evolution and the whole bio-technology.
The ability to see the infinite consequences of every decision.
The way we jump between detailed short term and millennial long term consequences.
The ideas are just so well thought through and fleshed out!
Dune is in my opinion THE best sci-fi univers ever created to this day.
It's no joke when they have been called the Lord of the Rings of sci-fi!
But Dune is definitely not for everybody as the long descriptions and conversations can indeed be rather off-putting.
I certainly wouldn't blame anybody for not getting through the entire thing.
Going off-topic here, but did anyone ever watch the Dune mini series? Is it worth watching?
The David Lynch movie is amazing, if not entirely true to the books. The imagery has been a huge inspiration to me in so many ways.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Dune series. Just finished Dune: The Butlerian Jihad and was quite disappointed with it. Hoping the 'House' books will be worthwhile. Watched the movie and it started off exactly like the book, by the end lets just not go there...
