What are you reading at the moment?

I have finished The Grail Quest books and moved on to Azincourt and I have The Empty Throne waiting. I think I'll read the Harry Potter books next as a bit of a change.

Most people know of the books through the movies but has anyone read The Three Musketeers books? I picked up The Three Musketeers, Twenty Years After and The Man in the Iron Mask but I haven't started reading. Wikipedia talks of The Vicomte of Bragelonne: Ten Years Later which includes The Man in the Iron Mask but also talks of two other books; The Vicomte of Bragelonne and Louise de la Vallière. Has anyone read them and do they add anything to the story and was it translated to English?

I have read both, the three musketeers and twenty years after.
I must confess, most of the films do not have a lot to do with the story.

The story itself is a little bit weird... you wouldn't write it like that today.

I started rewatching a relatively accurate children's adaption of the books a few months ago but gave up. I'd never realised before how all of the characters were just horrible people, constantly fighting at the merest insult.

So...where does one find Thrud the Barbarian? Who writes/draws that one?

I've been into comics the last four months or so - gotten into star wars comics
and graphic novels. I've bought a lot of off the wall stuff too - I've gotten one
army of darkness: ash gets hitched (or something like that), some dark shadows,
a AD&D comic, and a couple of magic the gathering (these came with cards, too).

I haven't read through a lot of these yet - I need to get the first couple of each
series...these that I bought were from a 3 for $1 area at my favorite local comic
shop, and I assume these were leftovers he was trying to get rid of. I'll have to find
the first comics cheap somewhere, so I know what is going on.

I've been contemplating picking up Groo the Wanderer, as well - but again, I
have to figure out where they begin, then I can start buying them.

RE: Thrud -

Critchlow (Creator of Thrud), is one of the guest artists for Zombicide: Black Plague and his miniature of Thrud is in his guest box. Just a heads up if anyone did not know.

I just wanted to know why they add such non fitting art and ugly minis to it. Turned out thrud is an old hangaround. He has been in a lot of white dwarfs with one page stories, and the artist Carl critchlow decided to make full books with 24 pages in the late nineties.

He has the strength of a rhinoceros, the speed of a jungle cat and the intelligence of a garden snail. Such are the stories. Take a look at Wikipedia. If one should buy the comic-I don't know. They had been fun to read yesterday evening, though.

However, REALLY good was Elric - The balance lost by Michael Moorcock. If you are on the search, rather buy that one.

Any chance anyone has read Stewart Binns Making of England series? I have quite enjoyed reading Bernard Cornwell's books and I'm looking for something similar. I also came across some other Plantagenet stories but they looked like Mills and Boon type stories...

Somewhat odd, but I'm reading Wars of the Computers and Terror Cubes, they were childrens books from the 80's.
