That horrid scroll alone makes me not want this, let alone the giant risk involved here.
Spanish kickstarter... legal issues... horrid translations... This spells disaster. Will they even reach their goal I womder.

I can guarantee it because if someone that is a native speaker of English let those errors get through he should be severely punished and fired for not doing his job. Even the most inept of us here could do a better proofread job of it (I include myself in that statement).

:D, well you know, I must say that despite my bad english I really appreciate a text written by a native english than a good french(in my case) translation. I mean this HQ will be in spanish and the translation (whatever the language used) will harms the game a lot roleplay wise. I'm in the process of bringing the whole advanced heroquest thing in french (because at 4 am it's quite hard to read out loud in french a text written in english). And I must say that I'm facing to a lot of problem to translate correctly every bits of humour or some formulations... So My point is about this HQ, let it in spanish, buy the restic furnitures and that's it... HQ is sooooo full of fan made stuff than anything could hardly stand by it.
Sorry for you eyes... I do my best... :D

I think that the developers want to win the big jackpot on the brand. From this is not the fact that the game will be awesome on the mechanics. And to create something very difficult for her, so they might be called Heroquest. / In Russia a few comedians and lovers of board games try to make a game called "NOHeroQuest")) Where there is a mockery of a serious fantasy. I know that the story missions tied to Barak Tor. :dwarf: :dwarf: :dwarf:

Don’t forget that kickstarter mean “I start with no budget”… they won’t give money at this point to pay people for translations. If you ask me, HQ doesn’t have to be a kickstarter project. If they got the license they should have published it as a normal game on the stores, with advertising on tv, etc. But as long as no one did it, it’s a good opportunity to get a new compatible (I hope) game as an add-on for our HQ.

But about the translations, I am sure that the final product will have no errors… by the way Spanish products have quality, and I can’t believe that they’ll do it so wrong.

Patroclus - my thoughts exactly. Why the whole kickstarter? This is a company with adequate funds and a reputation,
and the game itself has a great rep - why not just publish it?

That said - a lot of big companies have been doing kickstarter projects lately. My guess would be because it allows them
to get something going without the big overhead from the start, and it also allows them to gauge interest in the project.
However, one would think this would lower the price of a published product after the kickstarter...but this doesn't seem to
be the case.
Perhaps it is just greed? I don't know.

One that comes to mind - Monte Cook's company has done at least one kickstarter that I can think of...I think that's who it was.

cooke's projects are just that--projects. they aren't generally available for purchase afterward.

Another thing to consider is that kickstarted projects - games particularly - become freed from the pressures of a publisher pushing a developer to release a less-than-perfect product just to meet arbitrary deadlines.

That is SO right.
Maybe they know about the legal risks and want to make money through using the name HeroQuest knowing that THIS IS A freakin' RISK.

And still no reaction WHATSOEVER to my previous posts and all those after practically begging for some minor PR - PUBLIC RELATIONS with the potential fanbase.
A fine feat of marketing, in theory.

But nothing. No thing. Jesus.

But, that also means less compunction for quality assurance.
