@Sjeng: I would highly appreciate if you could send me your template(s)!

@Chaoticprime: They look gorgeous! How much do you sell them for? I would like to buy some :-)

Let me finish the pieces and then I'll figure that out.

I also have a bunch of custom HQ compatibles in the works. They'll include new cards n' stuff, too.

Got em all varnished after deciding on their natural base color. Took way too long to paint each base and then varnish them all in 1 sitting. I learned my lesson to spread them out or only do a few at a time. Critiques are wanted.

Edit: Also wanted to know if anyone is in the UK willing to post something to the US. http://www.yeoldeinn.com/hqforum/viewtopic.php?f=182&t=756&p=27505#p27495 - They will only ship to UK and was hoping someone might see this and be able to ship it to us if it was shipped to them. Having to trust a random forum member but gotta have faith in fellow HQ addicts fans.

Those look really good, man.
Why the base color choice if I may ask?
I'm still not 100% on what to do with mine... I'm leaning towards a grey stone texture.

I primed them in grey but when I touched up it to be solid grey again I was quite displeased. It was on both a zombie and goblin. I was inspired by tasoe's thread http://www.yeoldeinn.com/hqforum/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=1043&start=20#p11370 mummy I decided to go with standard plastic color for their bases. I'm pleased with how it turned out.

I would be too.
I think if I put some texture on mine I could dry brush them to look like they're standing on a stone floor. I don't want to really go all out with the detail there and this idea is tempting. Could always paint over it later...

You have lots of mummys

IvenBach, I had to go back to check if it really WAS you who made the bad color scheme thread, because these are beautiful.
Good strong theme. Well done! :)

Read this topic. I've been using Maike's technique of putting a thin layer of Milliput on top of the bases too, and then carving texture in it while still soft. Then when it hardens, prime it black and drybrush dark to light grey (or beige, blue, green, red etc.)

Some great ideas there Sjeng, thanks.
Don't know if I need to build them from scratch, but I might try a thin layer method. I just don't know if I can trust my free hand.
