Good luck

Your probably right - I think my issue is too much shading at the moment :(

Where did you get that monster treasure chest from? Could also use something like that to terrorize the heroes in my dungeon!

Along with silver, black and brown.' For anyone that's seen stuff I've done has probably noticed that I don't have any color scheme in mind when painting. I openly admit to having no taste in colors or worry about having stuff match but if it's for someone else I want it to look the best I can. I have the blue black brown silver colors either in apple barrel or vallejo. I've emerald (does that qualify for an aqua?) but don't know where to begin to incorporate them as a good color scheme.

Color words can be generally confusing, so you could start with a Google Image search of the colors you mentioned. I'd say emerald won't qualify for aqua if your friend is calling out a words like aqua and teal. Then again, if he wants things just one way, then he should buy the paints. I'd think he should be happy enough with anything you do for him, as it saves him a buttload of time learning how to do it himself.

He has no interest in painting himself. He's like me and not picky if someone does their best and uses what they have. I'll just take my time, go slow, and do my best.

Awesome, I need one :P Thank for the link. I think the bones plastic may actually do a good job with solid chunky minis like that. :D

True dat. The bigger, the better. Chunky for the same reason. My least favorite Bones are the zombies and elves from the first kickstarter--too thin.

I'm guessing you prefer dwarves over elves for that reason. Just make sure they got a beard you can hang onto.

Working on my undead now that I have the correct colors it is going much faster.

Yup, I got the zombies first and was somewhat disappointed about the material, perhaps because I choose the wrong figures (which doesn't help, because it were just zombies I needed). However, I noticed that putting them into spirit for some days made them at least a little bit "harder". Perhaps the material contains some plasticiser, which is washed out by the alcohol.
Have a look ;)
