Why I left all three HeroQuest groups on Facebook

This forum is definitely leaps and bounds above any HQ group that you can find on FB. However, it is doing a great job of getting info to newer players who might not necessarily know to go here in the beginning. I know that those groups helped me gather custom material before I found this forum. The constant cavalcade of painted minis does get a bit much, though I just scroll past until I find gameplay posts. But YMMV, of course.

I do have to say the YeOldeInn FB group has just become largely marketing for people who make their own character sets and quest packs, and reeaaaaaaaaallllly make it look like it's official.

There's a certain level of cool in that, because I know we've all done questbooks and such here, but it seems much more.... sleazy there. When one can't tell the difference between a AH image and someone's similar copy, I'm both impressed and pissed at being deceived.

Then again, it could be because my WoM from Amazon arrived damaged, and I sent it back, but I can't get a replacement.

But I do direct people here, because this is the Inn. That group wouldn't exist without this place.
