So because you have so many players, will you paint each other their own mini?

Well yeah, that's the idea. I've 9 heroes painted now and 8 of them are being used frequently.
Now I'll start on some monsters, or maybe other unpicked heroes that look cool.

You should branch out ethnically with some of the variations. It never hurts to practice painting various different flesh-tones.

I have several similar heroes to replace a fallen one. 2 barbarian males, 1 (soon 2) barbarian females, 2 male elves, 1 (soon 2) female elves, etc. Some from HQ, some from D&D boardgame, some from Bones. For example, I've painted my HQ barbarian caucasion blond like He-Man, my second HQ barby has an axe and is going to be African dark with a panther loincloth. Just to mix things up a little. Otherwise, after a long used hero dies, it would feel like death doesn't matter much if that same mini is on the table again next game. Now you get a brand new hero.

niiiiice that is a rather swish lookin mini there mate

The best way to highlight I have found is to "drybrush" either as a final finish or in layers depending on required effect.
I vaguely remember seeing a fairly decent colour guide on the GRANDMA WENDY (games workshop) hints and tips site and also comes in any of their basic paint sets (I think :? ) (for Jewels and redav) hope it helps

Gratuliere Bene! Prepare for sleepless nights. Our son is almost 8 months old now, and he is a handfull! But really great too. Can't wait till he learns to speak!
