What are you reading at the moment?

Reading The Pirate King. Another Drizzt novel, 2nd in a trilogy. I have to say the first 13 were great, and there was a nice trilogy about Jarlaxle and Entreri, the sellswords, that was a fun read, but these new stories just don't have the same power as the previous ones. Skip the whole Obould (orc king) saga, it's just not as good. The very first 6 books are amazing.

Oh, these Saxon Stories are becoming a BBC show called The Last Kingdom and the cast are listed. This is one show I'm looking forward to. Another is Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell. I finished reading it early this year and it was odd (writing style was different too) but I enjoyed it. Apparently a second book is to be penned.

Just finishing Niven's "Protector" and about to move on to "Crashlander".

Well, really at the moment I read "Aus dem Leben der Bienen" by Karl von Frisch - there's an English translation with the bulky title "The Dancing Bees: An Account of the Life and Senses of the Honey Bee", which really doesn't fit this very readable classic of popular science.
As for belles lettres, my wife has started to gie me the Guardians of Ga’Hoole books as gifts for various situations, and I read them as I get them, having finished The Shattering in januar. These are light fare, I can find quite some flaws, but still enjouyoable to read.

How do you mean? It's taking too long for season 5 of the show to appear? Or the next book?

I finished The Pagan Lord and am waiting for The Empty Throne. In the mean time I just finished The Winter King so it'll be Enemy of God next. I'm also reading The World of Ice and Fire

I also read Hedge Knight and looking forward to the next ones. There's also a compilation coming out which is good because they're out of print.

I've been working my way through the first Ravenloft novel - Vampire of the Mists.
Quite good...some slow points...but really interesting to see the beginning of the Demiplane of Dread.

Also - i got a big book of Beetle Bailey for Christmas. If you've never read Beetle Bailey...it is hilarious stuff.

If you have read Beetle Bailey and liked it - I really suggest Hagar the Horrible and Wizard of Id, as well.

Yeah season 5 the show is taking to long, walking dead is good but it's no game of thrones.
