Internet was out of function for a few days, so here are the newest updates:
Where will we meet?
Here:
I made this video myself with a small handheld photocamera. Don't be too critical. It shows the village I live, approaching from the neighboring village. The sight when coming over the hill is much nicer in reality, the video doesn't do it justice.
You may still look up Siebeldingen in Google images or Google maps.
When will we meet?
Do, July 20 'til So, July 23
Next weekend.
Definitely fix now.
Who will come?
Pitily few.
Perhaps we will meet again another time with more time for planning, so more people can make it.
All the more welcome to the ones who come this year.
I copied the chart from page 11 in here.
This is now the official, updated version:
| Tasoe | Greece | interested, but doesn't travel (now definitely out, would have loved to meet him) | |
| Goblin King | Denmark | comes | all July |

| Wolf | UK? | wanted to come for two weeks, can't afford plane this year (seems to live in the USA?) | |
| Patroclus | Greece | wants to come, offered help. Just now negotiates the schedule with his wife. Will tell us this week if he can come pitily, out for this year. | |

Transport
Everybody who comes by plane or train, I will come to the station / airport and pick up with my car.
I will also try to get a bus from my work so we can drive together when sightseeing.
It seems all participants come with their own cars.
If someone comes by train /plane, my offer of course still stands.
Also, as we will be so few, my own family car (7 seats) will suffice for our tours.
Gaming
In the evenings, we will of course play Heroquest - what else?
I think we can do two quests a day.
If not most people cancel their participation, we will be enough players to make two groups, so I'm planning to play two connected storylines which culminate in a grand finale with all heroes together in one dungeon. There will be two EWPs, myself being one of them. For the other one, I would prefer if one of you would volunteer. If nobody does, i have a friend who would help out.
Update:
If the three Brits and Sjeng all come, I will perhaps stick with the "parallel quests" concept, but the chances decrease with ever day. With four or five guests, I will simply EWP a series of quests for you.
We should use the best equipment available, so everyone who has painted minis, figures or furniture, or perhaps even a 3D gameboard, is encouraged to bring them along. Myself, I made a major order at Zealot's for this purpose.
If you intend to come, and have some material that you think could come in handy, please tell me, so I can coordinate it.
We will use european rules in general (Equipment cards, PvP combat, no backtracking), but the American Monster hit points plus perhaps the chaos spells for appropriate antagonists.
Every participant is invited to bring his/her favorite hero along and use it in play. Players who need a new hero will get some normal (no-artifact) equipment from the client to make the groups roughly balanced. Again, please tell me what hero you want to play, so we can plan, the sooner the better.
Sightseeing
I have a view places in mind that every HQ fan will love. There are many many to pick from, so since the meeting only has two full days, I can pick the créme for you (You will normally arrive at Thursday evening and leave relatively early at Sunday, so the only full days, with time for sightseeing, are Fr and Sat).
Sleeping
As mentioned above, you can get a bed in the guestroom, camp in the barn or have me find a hotel / guesthouse for you. There are many beautiful, family-run guesthouses in historical buildings in the area.
If you want to camp in the barn, please bring your own bedroll or sleeping bag.
I'm just now preparing the rooms, assemble the beds in the guestrooms, making a ladder up to the haymow and cleaning it up (ouch).
Participants who live nearby of course can also choose to sleep at home.
Please, let me know as soon as possible what you want (expecially if you want a hotel / guesthouse room, as they tend to become crowded in summer).
Update:
As we can accomodate four guests in the house, I will not prepare the barn, which is additional work (and I have quite enough work to do).
Goblin king will sleep in a tent with his father, the others can have a bed.
I would still like to ask you to bring a bedroll, sleeping bag or blanket. My wife told me we don't have enough for all.
Eating
I will barbecue for all of us around 5 or 6 pm, when we come back from sightseeing, before we start gaming.
This will be the main meal, but you can get breakfast at my house, and you can get a snack at noon at the places we visit - these are mostly castles, and most of them sport some kind of diner.
Money
The latter (or any form of dining out) you would have pay yourself, but you are my guests for the barbecue and breakfast.
"You pay the travel costs, I provide the living".
Of course, if you sleep in a hotel, that's also your's to pay.
Having said this, if anyone has problems to participate because of costs, we will find a way to help out.
I'd rather pay (or rather, arrange something to provide payment), than pass the oportunity to meet one of you. I will handle such cases discretely, of course.
