That's why I like Bones so much. Light, can withstand ANY impact, easy to mod.
I've seen a video of a painted bones troll being driven over with a car, and it survived. xD

I think that like most technologies, it will progress until its every day.
one day we will all be printing off customised 3d minis in our own home. not everyone will be be. just the ones with this particular hobby.
most of us will still be painting them ourselves, cos thats our hobby and we like it, but our kids will be laughing at us for still preferring vinyl.
or trudging down the shops to but a cd, when it can be delivered to your device in seconds.

Im just reiterating what i mentioned in the other thread really.

Has anyone printed with Shapeways 'Frosted ultra detail' (which, correct me if im wrong, is the highest detail they are offering, its the highest detail shapeways currently offer anyway)? I have. Its printed on an Objet 30 printer, with wax supports.

*Detail is not suitable for a good miniature, i tried this before buying my own machines. Bodies n stuff, maybe. heads and faces - no.

*It shatters like icing sugar. Drop one and you'll be sorry. It will end up in teeney tiny bits.

*Wax support is near impossible to paint over, even i have trouble and i clean the wax support with 99% iso and an ultrasonic bath. Not many people have these around.

*Like CP says, why dont you just buy conversion parts and make better quality unique figures? for half the price?

in my humble opinion there will be a lot of disappointed backers at the end of this KS.

Its quite bias pro additive manufacture, but it is good if you want to further your general understanding.

Also their presentation lacks in technical but necessary info on the final product. People are going to be disappointed in the end. Because they tend to give magical abillities to new techs that have still long way to go.
