There's no easy way to say this, but Lazare blends too much into the dark background.
It's simply not working as an image with only dark colors. I assume changing the background color is unacceptable?
Try giving his hair an outline with a light blue instead of dark red.
Or if possible within your restrictions, change his skin tone to a lighter brown.
