True, and there is still always time to change everything, the art might not be so good, but if they plan a 25th version then later in the year another plain core box set, if it hits of course. Then maybe they are considering this a prototype for now? But if they are just trying to make off the name of hero quest, and everything turns out a dud so to speak, I wont be backing it at all. Cant help but to speculate though, :P :)

by that argument you could go to gamezones website and view all of their existing miniatures and then youd have a good idea of whats gonna be on the kickstart

wolfie907 wrote:sjeng how excited were you during zombicide itars and bones kickstarts you made several posts on this site talking about those and speculating about what was coming up next and how awesome this or that stretch goal was or would be if they did it that I find it disappointing you feel a need to disparage someone from making similar posts about heroquest {which this site is dedicated to} just because you don't like the new concept

Knightkrawler pretty much explained what I was going to say, so thanks KK.
But also, I did not start an entire new thread for my posts. I posted in the existing ks, about that ks. Not in a new thread, about a possible expansion. And so my opinion is that it' s premature and pointless at this time. I can give you no answers whatsoever.

Wolfie's post prompted a different kickstarter in my mind, akin to GoblinKings's original artist stretch goals. Cut a licensing deal with Hasbro, then kickstart the funds to produce the Wizard and Dwarf Quest Pack expansions--as conceived by Milton Bradley. I'd put down a hundred bucks for those babies. Damn, I'd problably lay down a second hundred for the Barbarian and Elf Quest Packs, as well. Maybe even another hundred for Wizards of Morcar and Against the Ogre Horde using NA rules and formatting.

Ah--fantasy. I wonder if it is possible Hasbro would allow their originals to be copied and 3D printed or for a production run to be contracted out. Estralia did get the Brazilian game out in '94, but sans miniatures.

I'd just want plastic minis in a certain style and in style coherence.
The rules and quests are written here.

Love to that happen, with the kickstarter projects, anything can happen. Would be brilliant if they did. I wonder after GZ Kickstarter they will at least have some thoughts if a petition for it was made to do the other two expansions and 2nd edition expansion re-prints. Certainly clear that they will not get petty cash from Hero Quest. :D Another petition for those two packs might work alone. :) Nice to dream.

My Wizard and Dwarf expansion wish list include the original, but unpublished Quests that were already written for Milton Bradley, US. If I recall correctly, Toco has already posted on his site that game designer Richard Borg had written the Wizard Quests. Not sure if he did the Dwarf Quests, too.

As for what Gamezone has in the works, from the Lanzanos funding site:

The mysterious Books of Sand

First of all, let me begin with a clarification about the Acts we are thematically dividing the rewards of our crodwfunding campaing at Lánzanos.com. Yes, you can consider each one of them as little expansions that extend the possibilities of the basic game, and no, we currently have no intention of sellingl them individually as separate expansions but if that would be the case in the future, they would be sold together in one single box.

Having said that, we also want to confirm that the basic box (Level 1 Pledge) contains everything you need to enjoy HeroQuest Classic as well as the fifty challenges from the Quest Book, while the Second Volume recently unlocked for Level 3 pledgers continues the plot with new enemies and elements of scenery. All of them, not only those from Acts I and II, but all those you can unlock in the exciting next 12 days of funding this campaign.

Re: Hero Quest - 25th Box Set Expansions

Postby HeroQuestFrance » February 23rd, 2014, 12:31 pm

We already talked about some expansions for HeroQuest including a solo mode, a no gamemaster mode, new monsters etc.
However, the game is now in the process of the production and advances well and this is too soon to abord the idea of the expansions.
The distribution will be with Hasbro and may be other companies worldwide (still pending decisions) but there's a new project first : SPACE CRUSADE, the new edition !
So we will talk about all this later.
