I find it funny that when you speak Danish, English, German and French you can practically read and understand Dutch

I live in Edenkoben and work in Offenbach on Queich, basically in the heart of the Palatine, so it's very definitely Palatine German (which is of course part of the Rheno-Franconian family). And yes, it's awful. But there are worse dialects around, both German and other.
I can understand Palatian and Berlinerisch (my mother comes from Berlin) quite well, even when it's very thick, but I can't speak any dialect to save my live.

I can manage High German, Moselfränkisch, Oberpfälzisch, and General American.

And then English, some German, a wee bit French, a few words Spanish. Just enough for having a vacation there

I speak German, English (enough to hold lectures without script), Arabic (not really, but enough to do some polite smalltalk), and read French (not very well), Latin, Dutch and Egyptian (Middle Egyptian, Late Egyptian, Demotic and Coptic).

Well, Finnish is one particlary interesting language. Hardly related to any other one.

Estonias (Eest?) and Hungary are in the same language family, but Hungary doesn't sound even close to same as Finnish.

That's because Finno-Permic languages (basically Finnish and Estonian and others) are very distantly related to the Ugric languages (Hungarian et al.),
but they once shared common traits and compose the European remnants of the Uralic languages.
Further branches are spoken in Northwest Russia, for the most part.
The Uralic family parallels our own Indo-European language family in the family tree.

All other European languages belong to the Indo-European family.
I hope I didn't post half truths here. Long time no study, Linguistics...

I probably can understand more or less easy Dutch, and to a lesser extent Danish, Norwegian, Swedish.
I like imitating dialects and sociolects in German and English (for humorous effects) and am told I'm rather good at it.

That is not Finnish If you put ääs there it doesn't make it Finnish Don't you know your own countrys places?
