If the information he's telling us is false, it's because he's been lied to himself but may not realise it. The true source of the information is what you should have a problem with. Don't shoot the messenger in this case.

HeroQuestFrance is not GZ, and he's not Dionisio and shouldn't be mistaken as either. HeroQuestFrance is a HeroQuest loving fan who has volunteered to translate the projects to French and like the many who backed the project, has been seduced by nostalgia. This is my belief, as knowing HeroQuestFrance for a good many years, it couldn't be any other way.

This is all fair. I should not have so readily accused him of anything. I admit I made a mistake (Sjeng, here it is--drink it in).

knightkrawler wrote:What is this Hasbro *lemony goodness*? Kickstarter threw GameZone out because they wouldn't prove that Hasbro gave permission even though they claimed so. Embarking then on a crowdfunding campaign on a different third party side than Kickstarter is - to me - proof for that permission not being there. Now doing the campaign in Spain where the law appears to be somewhat different is downright dubious.
We wanted to see proof that Hasbro gave permission - that was the claim by GameZone, remember? - at any given moment, and here's the deal:
HeroQuestFrance knows that.

It is certainly my own belief that GameZone does not have any permission from Hasbro. Their actions (or more accurately, inactions) during the suspended Kickstarter campaign has given me reasonable doubt to their claims. Otherwise, they would have provided Moon Designs with proof of Hasbro's permission and continued their funding on Kickstarter. It's not logical (nor is it good business sense) for them to pass the opportunity to gain funding through the most well-known and worldwide crowdfunding service and move on to lesser known and limited services.

I asked Mike Mearls of WotC about this. If Hasbro has any plans to do anything with Heroquest, they haven't cut in their resident gamers.
