Though I'm not sure if it was related to the Conquering Despair storyline, I can assure everyone that it was a load of fun to play. A great strength of his game is its Hero Quest bones. This makes the game intuitive to learn, particularly for those of us experienced with the grand-daddy of dungeoncrawlers. The up-front new rules dump was just a few minutes, then we were choosing our characters and equipping them. All said, we were up and running in about 10 minutes--not bad! Even my inexperienced daughter was playing confidently in just a couple of turns. If anyone can make it to Gen Con this year, I recommend giving Broadsword a try.

Oh my gosh, yes. It was such a pleasant surprise having you at my table, Daedalus!
Honestly, my memory isn't as great these days, I can't remember which session you were slotted in, but if you played through a puzzle dungeon, then that was related to the Conquering Despair campaign. But if not, then it was a made-for-convention game.
Thanks for the shout out as well. I hope to see you (plural, all of you) at one of my games at some point in the future. But, Daedalus, if you do end up returning, don't forget to bring your Bloody Eye button for extra gold for chargen!
