Upgrading HeroQuest Furniture

Postby Kuromadoshi » November 2nd, 2019, 5:47 pm

Hello guys!

I've been planning to upgrade my HeroQuest furniture by replacing all cardboard parts with popsicle sticks and other materials.

Here's my first project, the Bookcase. I'll keep posting. Any suggestions are welcome.

The basic structure is done.
Now I'll make little books and scrolls to fill it up.

love this stuff. I thought at first you were going to 3D print them

This is my first crafting experience, so I tried to do the sketch as detailed as possible. I used the 3D as measure reference and to have some idea how it'll look when built.
The extra measuring helps a lot with avoiding unnecessary cuts. I did 3D print some doors. I'm not sure if I liked the result though, so I want to hand craft the furniture instead, but reusing the plastic parts.

Hey guys,

It's been a while, but I'd like to update you on my little HeroQuest furniture project. The first bookcase is completed. What do you think of it?

Really beautiful!
Can you explain how you did the books also?

The books are made from sticks, left overs from the base structure of the bookcase. I just glued some cardboard from a cereal box to make the covers. The scrolls are actually rolled up paper, and the skull was sculpted with epoxy.

Amazing... So sticks in the middle with card wrapped round as the cover, then paint? I'll be giving this a go.
