I was playing Legos with my grandson and had a thought and came up with this. Using 1x2 and 1x4 military bricks. The quarters separated cause the corridors to be really close, but if you fix that with arches to lock all the quarters in place then you get wide corridors but all the room lines are slightly off from the floor... at least for the new version board.

That's a nice effort that comes really close to a board match. Have you ever seen Nanoblocks (not Lego)? They are half the scale, so they probably would fit just about right. But who knows, until someone tries?
