To keep your miniatures that are mounted in place in a way that does not use glue to permanently put them in place might I suggest the product called "Tacky Wax" a Yaley product.
Just a small bead of the wax on the riders butt and set him in place. If you need to have the rider removed from the mount just pull him off. If you want to remove the wax completely for some odd reason, then put the minis together and in the freezer for about 15 minutes than remove the mount and rider then pull the wax off the mini that it sticks to. It will pull off the vast majority of the wax. The remainder can be removed with a bit of hot rubbing alcohol.
I don't know about you folks but I can't count how many times a rider has fallen off a mount or in the case of a glued on mini, the situation arises where the rider is no longer mounted. Well Tacky Wax solves the dilemma in a fabulous fashion.
So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.
