I could also send him an HQ mini to paint if we want to keep it that strict. That'll cost me 4 bucks of shipping, so duh. It just can't be one of the more valuable figures like Ogres or even a Gargoyle...

A thought that crossed my mind... As there seem to be a certain core group of people who participate each year, would it make sense to make sure you can't get a mini from one you already own a mini from?
As much as I would love to get another mini from tasoe, I think it's more fun to get from different people each year.

Thoughts? Is it just me? And can it actually logistically be done?

I think its doable. We'll just have to wait and see if any other forum members join us and we can arrange some specific no-no's when making the draw

Well, I better get my painting kit out then. I'm in, if I can paint a non HQ figure. I have none left to give away I'm afraid. But I have plenty of other minis that will fit in nicely. And of course it'll have the classic rimmed EU HQ base (TM).

The consensus from previous years has been HQ >>>compatible<<< miniatures.

But really, I actually wouldn't mind trying a pure "free for all" miniature exchange at some point.

I think that so far, all participants are all active members of this forum and most of us have been in this exchange at least once before.
I don't mind non HQ miniatures. Last year I received a Zealot dwarf and it wasfreaking awesome. I personally like the whole old-school mini - like miniatures from Dark World, Dungeons & Dragons, Legend of Zagor, DragonQuest, Talisman etc but Warhammer fantasy ones work quite well too. I have a bunch of orcs and chaos warriors sitting around so any active member that wants me to send them a mini is welcome.

What is the Christmas Exchange?

Every participant paints one mini and receives one, painted by another participant they don't know,
making it a Christmas surprise.
