I'm not imply it would go cheaper. Many would still skip the listing but I agree, it would only take 2 collectors to make the price sky rise. If I thought it would go for cheap, I wouldn't have posted it here and bid myself, lol!

As for ebay not being a lottery. I got Heroquest Advanced edition, plus a standard HQ, kellars Keep, Witchlord and Ogres Horde for £60. it was a gamble as Ogres Horde etc wasn't listed. When it arrived Heroquest Advanced was Unpunched as new. The lister had listed 2 sets but didn't think it important to mention the other was unused.

I got Spacehulk, Deathwing and Genestealer for £42. Genestealer fetches that alone. When it arrived the Hybrids were still on the spru, people go silly prices for them.

Those prices included postage too.

My only gripe is i missed out on ThunderRoad. I always wanted this back in my collection for some serious modding, I'd been watching if for a year, decent cheap prices, but I wanted a really good condition one cheap... Obviously, i should of known that the price would rise when the new film came out.

That's not true, per se. Or rather, what you imply (it is likely to go cheaper than we would expect) is not true most likely.
If only two casual HQ collectors/bidders look at the pictures, the price will rise naturally to about what is to be expected.
Ebay hasn't been a lottery for years, now. Especially in collectors' markets there are virtually no positive surprises anymore, at least not by my experience. And I do watch some *lemony goodness* constantly.

I beg to disagree. Sometimes you can find a lottery here and there.

Then I'm very happy for you. You got lucky there.
But the likeliness of an English or even German version going for 99/100 of any currency is a leeeeedle slimmer than for a Swedish version.
At what day in the week and at what time did that auction end? I'm asking because the seller might have made some idiotic decisions.
That also happens and it is the dominant reason for freak bargains.

Well the seller did strike me a bit as ignorant. Shipping alone that big box from Sweden to Greece must have cost him about 20€ alone. He was stating in the description that the would ship only in Sweden for 165 swedish crowns but he had listed worldwide shipping for 3 bucks. I guess he hadn't listed anything before in his life. It was pure luck, plain and simple.
As far as I remember, it was a Tuesday afternoon when the auction ended.
