KS - Dungeon Forge: In My Pocket.. Micro HQ?

Postby QorDaq » August 8th, 2016, 2:40 pm

Greetings Warriors,

I just saw this "2nd Edition" Kickstarter Project from Raul Pozo and Maze Scale, coming out of Spain. It looks like a Mini/ Travel version of HQ? At least in terms of minis and tiles, not sure that there is in fact a game here, it's hard to tell. The 2nd Edition also offers a Sci-Fi variant as well. The whole thing looks fairly derivative, however it also looks kind of interesting. Did anyone back the previous edition?

It appears that the miniatures and the board tiles are 1/88th scale, and the Goblins look a lot like Snotlings. The Barbarian looks pretty much like a straight copy, though in miniature. And the Sci-Fi variant has some obvious Space Marines, some very Geiger-esque Xenos, as well as an ED-209 knock-off... Which tickles my fancy a bit.

The KS page can be found HERE.

Thoughts?

I've thought of making a Space Crusade set in mini scale using epic miniatures.
What's stopping me is the "why"...

I really liked Epic 40K... "Back in the Day"... Used the Car Wars Midville and Truck Stop maps for urban scenarios... Pretty cool.

The sameness of the 3X3 rooms doesn't work for me--big boss battles just aren't possible.. I'd think the small pieces would get knocked down a lot as well.

I did enjoy seeing the mash-up of dungeon-crawl monsters ready to play. Must be the nostalgia.

Now that we have the scans by Ct. Kelz, we could make a real "pocket HQ". Figures should be around 1/3 of the original size and magnetized so they don't fall around all the time. Already thought about that.
Have a look ;)

That is really cool, but the player and monster minis should be made from shrinky dinks! Draw it and cut it out 10x bigger, then stick it in the oven. It will even have a glass like look on the edges.

If the referenced links get any smaller, this thread is in danger of collapsing in on itself.
