That seller there uses all kinds of copyright declarations.
Either it's him or the creator is being mentioned, so no need to jumpt to conclusions every time someone sells anything.
He has something that he put money into (printing), now he doesn't need it.
So, please, please, let him sell it.

Yea, I thought it looked kind of cool, and he has a few different boards for sale. I get tired of the original board every now and then. Using my printer to print off a game board in pieces (since i can only print standard letter paper) leaves something to be desired.

I have seen the boards on a few different sites (I think the Italian site at www.heroquestgame.com) actually has a quest pack or two that make use of the boards.

Speaking of which... and totally off topic... do we have anyone who could translate their quests/cards and such? They have some great looking material on the site (should prob post this in another forum area...)

clmckay wrote:Actually, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that board and a few others were made by a guy at the Spanish HQ site. I also seem to remember a big hullabaloo when he started selling those on eBay. I don't know what arrangement was made - but some sort of agreement was came to between this fellow and the creator.

As a side note, I have the standard HQ board he is selling. I am very happy with it. It's durable and has the 3cm squares so it's nice and roomy compared to the normal sized board. Only drawback is storage as it has to be rolled.

How's the mat seem? Does it compare to chessex mats? I've looked around at some printing places like Kinkos and other big places as well as small printing shops and none have anything like what chessex offers.

I've never seen or touched a chessex mat, so I'm afraid I can't make a comparison for you.

That said. I'm very happy with it. It's thick.... let's say .75 - 1mm thick. The front (with the map) is smooth, semi-gloss. Has very good resolution on the graphics image. The back is a white, scrim finish. I roll it so the image faces out. That way when I use it the curl is down. It flattens perfectly out to the last inch or so. However, since I roll it with the image out, that last inch has flattened out perfectly by the time a game is finished.

If you're looking to create your own, look at this for a minute:

viewtopic.php?f=37&t=2620#p44706

I had that printed at this website:

http://www.halfpricebanners.com/prints/ ... yl-posters

It's real nice - though not as heavy as the eBay seller we're discussing. It's smooth on both sides and has a nice front finish. I've used this map quite a bit and it has held up perfectly. Curling has not been a problem when rolling it with the image out.

I have also used this website:

http://www.echodgraphics.com/category1. ... &iid=12042

I highly recommend them as well. These are thicker, more on par with the eBay'er's maps. They have a matte front though but keep the scrim back. Also, very durable.

Hope this helps. If you want a picture of something, let me know.
